FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I shoot in a more documentary style that focuses heavily on candid images and less on posing. That being said if you find yourself uncomfortable in front of the camera I am happy to help with little directions or prompts to get you feeling at ease. I aim to create images that show your genuine emotion as it unfolds throughout the day. Your story is important to me, and telling it authentically is my top priority.

You can see a basic overview of my pricing through my packages page. But all weddings are unique and require different lengths of time. Get in touch to set up a free consultation where we will determine how many hours of coverage suits you best!

I shoot weddings both solo and with a second shooter. I generally recommend having an additional photographer for weddings over 100 guest. This ensures that all of your important people are sure to be represented throughout the day.

Absolutely! The first time I was on a plane I was 6months old, and I have never been able to shake the travel bug since. I am a well seasoned traveler and would love to photograph your destination wedding. Please don't hesitate to contact me for international work. I also offer discounted rates on destination weddings as I know including an out of country vendor is expensive.

I am currently based out of beautiful Whistler, British Columbia- but I frequently travel for weddings and elopements and other projects. I am originally from Ontario, and spent 4 years working in the wedding industry in Toronto. I go back to Ontario frequently to see my family, and still see Toronto as a second home base. If you are planning a wedding in British Columbia, Ontario, or anywhere in the world please don't hesitate to get in touch!

You bet I do! Whistler has a wonderfully small wedding community. There are a ton of great vendors to choose from, and I would be happy to provide you with a list of some of my favourites!

The amount of photos delivered varies with each shoot. An average wedding (8 hours) normally yield between 600-800 edited images. For my portrait / lifestyle sessions I deliver between 50 - 80. It's all about the quality not the quantity.

I go through all the images of the day and select only those that best reflect your story. I take out all the blinking, chewing, or otherwise unflattering shots. Each file I deliver is edited to create a cohesive colour tone and lighting scenario that keeps everything consistent.

At Janice Power Photography, we understand the desire to have access to raw photos. However, we do not provide raw images to our clients. Our post-processing work is an essential aspect of our artistry, and we put a lot of time and effort into perfecting each image. We are confident that the final edited photos will exceed your expectations and be a cherished keepsake for years to come

You will receive an online gallery of your high resolution images with a custom URL and a personal download link within 10 weeks of your wedding day. My turn around time for portrait sessions is 2 weeks.

Definitely! Once I have shot your wedding (or portrait session) I back up the images on to two external hard drives. After your custom web gallery is sent to you I still keep the entire collection for 1 year in my archives.

Absolutely! I am a huge advocate of printing your images, and seeing them all laid out in a book is even better. I work with you to create your perfect album that you will be able to pull off the book shelf any time to relive your day over and over again. I also sell prints through the custom web gallery that you receive.

Please email me through my contact page and tell me a little info about you and your wedding. We will set up your free consultation and go from there. To secure a date I require a signed contract and a non-refundable deposit.
