How do I like my Whistler après? With ice of course! Too cheesy? Okay, yes maybe. But in all honesty this Whistler proposal photography session could not have been a more perfect après for Mauricio and Veronica after their first day of skiing.
The couple came to Whistler on vacation from Mexico City. Neither one of them had been to Canada before. Mauricio thought this would be the perfect time to pop the question to his longtime girlfriend. He contacted me through Instagram @janicepowerphoto to inquire about Whistler proposal photography.
When your proposal destination is Whistler there are no limits to the amount of amazing places we can go for the photos!
Mauricio opted to keep it close to Whistler Village since he and his future fiancée were taking their first ever ski lesson on Whistler Blackcomb that day. We set up a time and place to meet that was within walking distance of the gondola. Mauricio was thrilled and kept me updated on their whereabouts as the time of the Whistler proposal photography session drew nearer.
We had chosen Rebagliati Park as the venue for the Whistler proposal photos for its nice afternoon light and the fact that the covered bridge made for an excellent hiding spot for a certain Whistler photographer. While I waited on the bridge Mauricio led Veronica down to the river’s edge. As soon as he got there he positioned himself so I would be able to see both of them then dropped to one knee. They had the Whistler proposal he had been planning for months.
Veronica could not have been more surprised. She thought they were just stopping to look at the view on their way back to the hotel. Little did she know her Whistler après would turn into a new chapter in her relationship with Mauricio.
